Julian “Jumpin’” Perez is a Chicago house music icon and legendary on-air radio personality whose career spans more than four decades. With over 30 years on Chicago’s most influential stations—including B96, WGCI, WBMX, KISS FM, and 104.3 Jams—Perez helped shape the city’s sound and club culture. As the creator and leader of The B96 Street Mixand The B96 Mixmasters, he played a pivotal role in transforming B96 into “Chicago’s Dance Beat,” the city’s most-listened-to radio station. His lasting impact as a DJ, mix show director, promoter, and tastemaker has cemented his status as a Chicago music legend.
